Moderately active but not overly strenuous. This level includes activities like casual cycling, yoga, or excursions/activities that typically last 3-5 hours total each day.
Arrive this morning at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on the flight of your choice. Here you will meet your travel representative and driver guide, who will lead you through a short safari briefing before setting out toward Amboseli National Park. Amboseli is located at the foot of Africa's snow-capped Mt Kilimanjaro, and the mountain dominates the horizon beyond this southern park. Amboseli supports a fragile ecosystem of wildlife that is best known for its large herds of elephant. Explore the park with your guide before returning to Ol Tukai Lodge for dinner and a restful first evening in Kenya.
Spend today exploring the wild diversity of Amboseli National Park with a morning and afternoon game drive. Set out at sunrise to witness wildlife activity before the heat of the day, returning for breakfast and lunch back at the lodge. Relax before setting out for your afternoon game drive, keeping your eyes peeled for the massive herds of elephant, diverse bird species and other wildlife. Enjoy this exciting day beneath the beautiful backdrop of Mt Kilimanjaro.
Rise for an early breakfast before setting out in the direction of the beautiful Mt Kenya. Mt Kenya was formed some three and a half million years ago, and this UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site is considered deeply sacred by the Kikuyu people. Enjoy lunch at the Aberdare Country Club before proceeding to your lodge inside the Aberdare National Park.
Located northeast of Nairobi, Aberdare was established to protect the Aberdare Mountain Range, the peaks of which reach 3930 meters. Aberdare's landscape features steep forested slopes, expansive moors and deep ravines scattered with tumbling waterfalls, clear streams and cascading rivers. Here you will also find elephant, lion, spotted hyena, rhino, black leopard and the elusive bongo antelope.
After breakfast set out for the Northern area of Samburu, arriving at camp in time for lunch. Spend the afternoon acquainting yourself with the lodge and resting up before our evening game drive.
Situated along the Ewaso Nyiro River, Samburu National Reserve attracts plenty of wildlife from the surrounding plains and habitats to its remote location. Large herds of elephant, reticulated giraffe, buffalo, gerenuks and big cats are all commonly spotted. You may also have the privilege of witnessing a red-robed Samburu tribesmen bringing their cattle down to the river to drink.
Return back to the lodge for dinner, enjoying uninterrupted views of the beautiful river and wildlife it attracts.
Rise early for a morning game drive, setting out in the coolest hours of the day to maximize your game-viewing experience. Keep an eye out for unique species only found north of the equator, such as the helmeted guinea fowl, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Grevy's zebra and Beisa oryx. Find relief from the hot African sun back at the lodge, relaxing for the remainder of the afternoon until the sun sets and the wildlife is active once more. Set out for one last game drive in Samburu, enjoying sundowners at a beautiful location before returning to camp for dinner.
After a filling breakfast, we leave the unique landscapes of Samburu behind as we set out for the great Rift Valley Lakes. Arrive at the entrance to Lake Nakuru National Park in the late afternoon, heading straight to our lodge for lunch. Enjoy time to rest before setting back out on an evening game drive in the park, exploring the lake and the various species of Lake Nakuru National Park. You will soon discover that this area is teeming with wildlife - keep your eyes peeled for the lions, buffalo and rhino that call this corner of Kenya home. If you're lucky, you may just spot a leopard relaxing beside the lake.
Return to the lodge for dinner and an evening under the open Kenyan sky.
Spend today exploring the game-rich Lake Nakuru National Park with morning and afternoon game drives. Lake Nakuru is a world heritage site, renowned for its diverse birdlife, including the beautiful Flamingo, and picturesque landscape of marshes, woodland, grassland and euphorbia forests. The park also boasts a rhino sanctuary and supports regular sightings of the elusive leopard.
Enjoy a stunning sunset over Lake Nakuru before returning to your lodge for the evening.
Today we are off to the famed Masai Mara National Reserve. Upon arrival at our Mara camp, we will have time to enjoy a relaxing lunch and some rest before the temperatures cool down enough for our afternoon game drive. The Masai Mara is one of Africa's greatest wildlife reserves, and you will soon realize why. Acacia dotted plains jet up against tree-lined rivers and wildlife roams in abundance, creating a memorable wildlife experience for even the most seasoned traveler. Keep your eyes peeled for a pride of lions stalking their prey, a herd of elephants as they stomp through the plains or a pod of hippos almost hidden beneath the water. Game viewing on the reserve is fantastic year-round, and in certain months you can even see the great wildebeest migration.
Return to the camp for dinner and a chance to reflect back on our exciting day.
Spend the next two days exploring the wonders of the great Masai Mara. Search for the big five and other notable game, or choose to engage in other optional activities at the camp (please discuss these options beforehand with your Trip Planner).

This was my first experience with Adventure Life - and I couldn't have been more pleased with the trip. The guides and local staff in both Buenos Aires and Uruguay were terrific - extremely helpful and accommodating. I really enjoyed meeting the friendly staff in Buenos Aires in person (I left my bags with them for the afternoon).

The response from Adventure Life to my first inquiry was prompt and promising. I worked with Jamie Broeckel, Trip Planner, via text, email, and phone calls- always extremely responsive and thorough with information and explaining the process to arrange a private tour for me to Malaysia Borneo. Within about week, the booking was complete and I made decisions because of Jamie's great customer service , friendly manner, and overall competence on behalf of the company's travel expertise. Now I have an itinerary, additional Trip Planner Assistants, several links for vital information for traveling to Maylasia, etc. Still many details for Sept. trip, but now the heavy lifting is done and I can enjoy the rest of the anticipation and research!! Thanks Jamie- you are amazing!!!!

The trip was not only memorable for the amount of animals we saw but also for the people and accommodations at the two camps where we stayed. Our first guide, BK, was a wealth of information about the animals, landscape and down to the plants and what they were used for. Everyday out was a learning experience with him. All the people at the camps were gracious and the food was excellent.
Our second camp in the Okavanga was just as good as the first as far as the staff, accommodations, food and animals. After our experience at the first camp we amazed that the high quality remained the same. Our guide, G, made sure we were able to enjoy every experience including a rush through the bush to witness a cheetah and an ensuing hunt that he heard over his radio.
In both camps there were enough guides out that if they saw something the other guides were informed which helped in seeing as much as possible. It was also nice that the concessions were large enough that we did not have vehicles following each other throughout the day.
Normally there is always something in a trip of this length that we think could be improved upon but this is the rare case where we cannot think of anything. From the time we left the States to when we returned it was one of the most hassle free vacations we took.
Perhaps emphasizing the use of the laundry facilities at the camps would be useful because of the luggage restrictions would be the only thing I can think of as an improvement to future clients.
